CITY – The Valley City State men’s and women’s basketball teams swept the Dakota Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards announced by the league office Monday.

VCSU junior Sekani Milligen, a guard from Ford Lauderdale, Fla., was named the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. He had 41 totals points (20.5 per game), four rebounds and two steals in helping the Vikings to a pair of wins last week. He was 15-for-27 from the field, including 9-for-13 from the 3-point line.

VCSU junior Alyssa Hummel, a forward from West Fargo, was named the DAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She scored 28 points (14 per game), grabbed 14 rebounds and added two steals and an assist as the Vikings picked up a pair of victories. She was 13-for-19 shooting in the two games.
