Barnes County North girls basketball team opened the 2011-12 season with an 11-point win Tuesday night in Finley, knocking off Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 51-40.
Emily Albrecht poured in 16 points to lead the Lady Bison. SaraLi Petersen added 12 points and Lauren McMillan had eight. For FSHP, Chauna Ihry led with 12 points.
The Bison trailed by one point at halftime, but outscored FSHP 35-23 in the second half, including a 19-11 edge in the fourth quarter.
Up next: BCN (1-0) plays South Border at 8 p.m. Saturday during the South Border Jamboree at the Jamestown Civic Center.

Rebel boys earn first win
The Litchville-Marion-Montpelier boys basketball posted its first win of the season Tuesday night, going on the road to defeat Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal by a score of 54-49.
Dylan Thompson led the Rebels with 19 points and Garrett Van Asperen added 11 points for LMM in the victory. The Rebels trailed 42-36 entering the fourth quarter, but outscored PBK 18-7 in the final period to earn the District 5 win.
Nicholas Blaskowski poured in a game-high 23 points in the loss for PBK. Cole Diede added 11 points.
Up next: LMM (1-5) hosts Central Prairie for a district game on Friday night. PBK (0-7) travels to Lakota on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
