N.D.- The Oakes High School boys basketball team set a season high mark for points scored in a game, but the 53 points they were able to score were not enough to take down the Milnor Bison on Thursday night, as the Bison won 67-53.

The Tornadoes were lead by a solid offensive and defensive  performance by Simon Maddock who finished with a team high 19 points. Bryce Meehl had 11 for the Tornadoes.

“We were able to play very well at times tonight.” said Oakes head coach Brandon Bata. “But, we still need to work on playing solid for more than just a few minutes at a time.”

The Tornadoes are now 0-4 and 0-2 in District 1 play. Next up is a battle for the coveted Cowbell Trophy, as the Ellendale Cardinals visit on Friday night. Tip off is set for around 7:30.
