– A handful of area high school basketball teams are enjoying Top 10 rankings early in the 2011-12 basketball season.
The Carrington girls, who are defending state champs, are rated No. 1 in the state in the latest North Dakota Class B basketball poll conducted by the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportswriters Assocation. Central Cass is No. 3 in the girls poll; Linton-HMB is No. 6; and Napoleon, Kindred, Midkota, New Rockford-Sheyenne and Northern Cass are all receiving votes.
In the boys poll, LaMoure is the highest-rated local team, checking in at No. 4 with their 8-0 record. Central Cass is No. 7; and Griggs County Central and Maple Valley are receiving votes.
