CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner basketball teams will be in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) action tonight.
The Hi-Liner girls will host Fargo Davies in their third straight EDC contest and also their third straight home game to start the season. Valley City is 2-1 in league play, 1-1 overall after a 61-54 win over Fargo South last Thursday night.
Davies is 1-1 in EDC play, 2-1 overall, with wins over Jamestown and recently over Wahpeton, a 60-49 victory last Thursday night in Fargo. Their lone loss is to West Fargo, the same loss that the Hi-Liners have on their record, a 79-43 loss for the Eagles.
Fargo Davies was beaten in the regular season by Valley City last year, but then defeated the Hi-Liners in the EDC play-in round.
The Hi-Liner boys will travel to West Fargo to face the Packers. Valley City is 0-3 in EDC play, 2-3 overall, after a 73-65 loss to South last Thursday night.
The Packers have won two straight after dropping an overtime loss to Fargo Davies to start the year. They defeated Fargo Shanley 72-64 and bumped Devils Lake at home Saturday 70-65 to improve to 2-1 in league play and overall.
Both games start with 7:30 p.m. tipoffs tonight. The boys game at West Fargo will be heard on KOVC-AM 1490, with pregame coverage starting at 7:10 p.m.
