– The Anne Carlsen Center (ACC) recently received a heartwarming donation of teddy bears from the Jamestown High School boy’s hockey team and the Jamestown Hockey Boosters.

Two players from the team, Riley Schafer and Tygh Yatskis, each brought an extra large garbage bag full of blue and white teddy bears that were collected during their game on December 8th. The bears were purchased by fans in attendance who wanted to make a donation to the Cops and Kids program. At the end of the second period all of the bears (426 total) were thrown onto the ice and gathered by team personnel.

The players delivered the bears to ACC’s early childhood classroom and residential areas, stopping to take pictures along the way. Danny Schneider from the Jamestown Hockey Boosters said “The Anne Carlsen Center was chosen because we wanted to make Christmas a little more special for the kids.”

The event will be held on an annual basis with the boy’s team before Christmas.
