Stroh, age 69, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, December 31st at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City with Monsignor Dennis Skonseng celebrant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the church. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.

Harold Eugene Stroh, the son of Wilbert and Catherine (Harr) Stroh, was born April 27, 1942 in Billings, Montana. Harold grew up and attended school in the Eckelson, ND area. On July 1, 1965 he married Patta Svenningsen at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. The couple lived in Valley City where Harold worked for Culligan, Farmers Union and the City of Valley City for over 30 years before his retirement in 2009. Harold was an avid fan of Valley City High School and Valley City State University athletics. Harold loved going fishing, hunting, wood carving and attended all of the activities his grandchildren participated in. Harold was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Valley City Carvers Club and the Valley City Eagles Club.

Harold is survived by his wife Patta, Valley City, ND; two children, Heidi Stroh, Bismarck, ND and Dave (Brenda) Stroh, Horace, ND; grandchildren, Devon, Kayla and Grace Stroh; his mother, Catherine Stroh, Jamestown, ND; sisters, Sharon (Roger) Spetts, Billings, MT, Judy Midthun, Luverne, ND and Gayle (Wayne) Day, Jamestown, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his father Wilbert and one brother Leslie Stroh.
