N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Blue Jays got another sweep on Saturday afternoon at Jerry Meyer Arena, this time the victims were the Williston Coyotes.

Kayla Thoele lead the girls with 17 points in their 67-57 win, improving their winning streak to three games.

Jamestown built an early 10-point lead, but the Coyotes were able to chip into it before halftime trailing by only three. The Blue Jay didn’t have the same effect it did against Dickinson but still lead to 18 first-half turnovers.

The Blue Jays were much more efficient shooting the ball in the second half after going 11-43 in the opening session, they finished the game 11-30. That was in part to Thoele’s ability to score from in close.

The boys coasted to their fifth-straight victory. Jordan Thoreson came out and set the tone early with five quick points and the Jays never looked back coasting to a 65-31 demolition. He would finish with a game-high 16.

Williston did not make a field goal in the game for the first 13:20 and only had one in the entire first half. Jamestown refused to give up easy looks, forcing the Coyotes to settle for outside shots.

Despite having won five in a row, Head Coach Kelley Kessler has it sights set a little higher, “We said coming into this year that we were going to base our success off what happens against the teams in Bismarck, and we get our first crack at one this week.”

The Blue Jays will travel to Bismarck to take on Century Tuesday night. The games will begin at 5:45 with the girls opening play.

You can hear the game on KQDJ-AM 1400 and streaming live at NewsDakota.com with the pregame show beginning at 5:30 on Tuesday night.
