H. Lunn 90, of Cooperstown, ND formerly of Hannaford, ND died Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Cooperstown Medical Center Nursing Home where she had been a resident since September of 2009.

Claire was born August 30, 1921 in Hannaford, ND the sixth of seven children, the daughter of Oscar and Edna (Johnson) Ouren. She grew up and attended school in Hannaford and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1939. She graduated from the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1941. She then attended the Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada for a year. Claire worked at a Nursing Home in Valley City for two years and then a Lutheran Book Store in Racine WI for two years. She took a practical one year medical and health training class at the Missionary Health Institute in Toronto, Canada.

In the fall of 1947 she became a missionary in Pakistan; she worked there until returning to Hannaford, ND in 1960. Claire married Kenneth Lunn January 8, 1961 in Hannaford, ND. The couple farmed west of Hannaford. The couple enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Brownsville, TX. Claire moved to Cooperstown in 1989 to be closer to Kenny who was a in the Nursing Home. Kenny passed away December 31, 1989.

Claire loved to travel going to Israel, Africa returning to Pakistan twice, going on a cruise to the inside passage in Alaska and several trips to Louisiana.

She is survived by a daughter, Joanne, (James) Mendoza, Houma, LA; son Jamie (Pam) Lunn, Valley City, ND; four grandchildren, Jordan ( Jennifer) Lunn, Dylan Lunn, Brooks Larson, Bryna Larson and one great granddaughter Kennedy Lunn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 am in Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, ND, and Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church.

A Prayer Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
