(NewsDakota.com) The fundraising for the 2012 Dickey County Relay For Life officially commenced on Friday, as First Community Credit Union in Oakes played host to a soup lunch.

Two different types of soup were served, vegetable beef and knefla, with all monies raised going to the Dickey County Relay For Life.

According to Co-Chair Abrah Dufault, the organization raised a total of $367 during the event, which took place between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday.

Dickey County Relay For Life will be hosting an official kick-off ceremony on Sunday, February 12 at the Angry Beaver Lodge in Oakes.
