(NewsDakota.com) The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 56 year old Rolla man died over the weekend after a single vehicle crash in Ransom County, nine miles east of Lisbon late Saturday night.

According to the Patrol, Don Bjugstad was driving south on Ransom County Road 54 from Sheldon on his way to Lisbon just before midnight, when he failed to stop at the intersection with North Dakota Highway 27.

Bjugstad’s vehicle went through the intersection, and entered the south ditch where it vaulted and struck a thicket of trees before coming to rest. Bjugstad was air lifted to a Fargo hospital, and died of his injuries on Sunday. He was not wearing a seat belt, and the crash remains under investigation.
