CITY (NewsDakota.com)–If the Hi-Liner girls are to avoid a play-in game in the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC), tonight’s game with Wahpeton is close to a must-win.
The Hi-Liners travel to Wahpeton to face the Huskies in a return trip of the home-and-home series between the two schools. Valley City won the first game 44-43 at the Hi-Liner Activity Center on January 6th.
With a win, the Hi-Liners would fault back to 6th place in EDC play, after falling to eighth with their 74-59 loss at Fargo North on Friday night. They would also have tie-breakers on the Huskies by winning the two regular season games.
A loss, and Valley City would slip to 4-10 and be a game-and-a-half behind Wahpeton for the final non-play in spot. With only two games left in EDC play, both worth two points, the pressure would mount with a loss.
Gametime tonight is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on KOVC-AM 1490.
