Becker, 86, Valley City, ND died early Thursday morning March 1, 2012 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.

Wilbert Becker was born May 25, 1925 at Lehr, ND, the son of Fred H. Becker and Martha (Geigle) Becker. He received his elementary education at the local school and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He and Florence DynElla Ruff were married June 28, 1948 at Lehr, ND. They made their home in Lehr where he worked as a drayman on the railroad, then moved to Jamestown where he worked construction. They lived at area farms where he worked with Hereford cattle. They moved to Lodi, CA and he worked for the city. Moving back to North Dakota, he worked for area famers as a laborer and worked for the Barnes County Highway Dept. as a road maintainer until his retirement. After the death of his wife in 2009, he continued to reside in Jamestown. He entered the Sheyenne Care Center in April of 2010.

He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown.

He is survived by 4 children, Wayne (Connie) Becker, Dazey, ND; Myrna Harris, Fountain, CO; Lynette (Terry) Didier, Sanborn, ND; Rydell (Suzy) Becker, Valley City, ND; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Clarence Becker, Upland, CA; 2 sisters, Elda Ruff, Jamestown, ND; Darlene Aitken, Orville, CA; 3 step brothers, Arnold Becker, Jamestown, ND; Darvin Becker, Fargo, ND; Warny Becker, Wishek, ND; 3 step sisters, LuElla Boschee, Jamestown, ND; Cora Lachenmeier, Lodi, CA; Loretta Piehl, Marion, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, Fred P. Becker, 1 daughter-in-law, Pam, 1 son-in-law, Dale, 1 brother, 2 sisters, and 1 step brother.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday March 3, 2012 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Mark Haines, officiating.

The interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown.

Visitation – 1:00 – 7:00 PM Friday @ the funeral home
