memorial service for Edward Eggert, 92, Valley City, ND will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Sheyenne Care Center Chapel.  Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City.  Eddie died on March 6, 2012 at the Sheyenne Care Center under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.          

Edward John Eggert was born on January 13, 1920 in Valley City, ND to John and Alma (Johnson) Eggert.  He attended Grand Prairie School.  He farmed with his parents until moving to Valley City in 1970.          

Ed was a big supporter of the Barnes County Senior Center.  He sold many tickets in support of their fundraisers.  He will be remembered for his politeness and friendliness.          

He entered the Sheyenne Care Center in February of 2006.         

Ed is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou Tessin of West Fargo, ND and Annabelle (Morris) Tharaldson of Valley City; and numerous nieces and nephews.          

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Les, Gordon, and Earl.
