W. Lind of Jamestown, ND passed away Saturday March 10, 2012 at the age of 67 surrounded in love by his family, friends and loyal customers.

Loren was born July 16, 1944 in Kulm, ND; the son of Walter and Ethel (Johnson) Lind.  He was raised and attended school in Kulm, ND.  From 1961 to 1965 he served in the National Guard and was employed by Kulm Lumber Yard.

On June 18, 1966 Loren married Judy Cossette in Breckenridge, MN.  They moved to Enderlin, ND where he was employed at Crane Johnson Lumber Yard.  He began his career selling vehicles in 1971 at Midway Chevrolet, later Walt Sanders Chevrolet Jamestown, ND.  June 1982 Loren began working for R.M. Stoudt Ford as a salesman until he retired in February 2012.  Loren’s passion for selling and his love for people made his lifelong career enjoyable.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Jamestown; three daughters Jill (Dan) Gilbertson, Jamestown, Melissa (Paul) Highness, Lake Park, MN and Kristin (Steve) Gerszewski, Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchildren MacKenzie, Kaitlin, Kennedy and Emmie Gerszewski, Jamestown, ND and Grace, Ethan and Payton Highness, Lake Park, MN;  mother-in-law Eva Cossette, Breckenridge, MN; brother-in-law Raymond (Deb) Cossette, Wahpeton, ND; sister-in-law Doris (Melvin) Hubrig, Hankinson, ND;  brother-in-law Wilbur (Carol) Holmgren, Edgeley, ND; sister-in-law Hyon-Cha Lind, Tupelo, MS and many nieces and nephews.

Loren was a member of St James Basilica and over the years has served on the Finance Board and FACE Board.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a lifetime member of the Sertoma Club, instrumental in various fundraisers for this organization.  He served on the Frontier Village Board, Building Blocks board, coordinated many blood drives and was involved with Relay for Life.  He loved helping his community by volunteering.

Loren enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and golfing with his sons-in-law, daughters and grandchildren.  He loved spending time with family and drinking coffee with his friends and customers.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, sister and father-in-law.

 

Eucharist of Christian Burial – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Visitation – 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Prayer Service 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
