City (NewsDakota.com) Valley City Police are investigating the theft of ,000 worth of copper wire taken from a business and a city electrical department storage lot.

Acting Police Chief Mark McDonald says a preliminary investigation shows copper wire valued at $7,000 was taken from Hi Line Electric along Winter Show Road last night.

McDonald says copper wire with an estimated value of nearly $3,000 was taken over the weekend from a city owned fenced in storage lot in Valley City.

Anyone with information in this theft is asked to contact the police department at 845-3110.
