Motz age 56 of Valley City died Apr. 23, 2012 at his residence.  A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday April 28, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran church in Valley City with Rev. Dan Forsberg officiating.  The family will meet friends at the church one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery at Valley City.

Randy Allen Motz was born May 6, 1955 at Valley City, ND the son of Richard and Clara (Bonen) Motz.  He grew up at Valley City and attended Valley City High School.  Following school he was employed by Enterprise and later for Wick Construction.  He married Val Froemke at Valley City and the couple raised two children- Cody Motz of Valley City and Tehryn (Jeff) Person of Sanborn, ND.  Randy loved playing pool and was a good softball player.  Due to medical reasons Randy was forced to retire from work two years ago.

Survivors include his two children; 4 grandchildren, Jordyn, Kelsey, and Ethan Persons and Reese Motz, 2 step-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jada persons; a brother, Harry (Carol) Motz, Jamestown, ND, and a sister Alice (Robert) Levin, Morrhead, MN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard and two sisters Nancy and Mary Lou.
