(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown College’s softball team took home most of the Dakota Athletic Conference season awards announced on Wednesday.

First baseman Kate Johnson was named the DAC Player of the Year; D.J. Johnson was named Pitcher of the Year; outfielder Heather Haegele was named Most Valuable Senior; and coach Kevin Gall was named Coach of the Year.

Dickinson State’s Janell LaRont was named Freshman of the Year.

Jamestown College had five players named All-Conference and six players earn Gold Gloves. Valley City State had four players named All-Conference and one player earn a Gold Glove.

Jamestown College finished with a 28-23 record and an 8-4 record in DAC play, tying Dickinson State for the regular season title. Valley City State finished 26-20 overall and 5-7 in the conference.
