SATROM, 70 of Hope, ND died Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Sanford Health of Fargo. Judy was provided with the utmost dignity and care by the staff at Sanford Hospital during her brief battle with cancer.

Judy Johnson was born January 1, 1942 in Colgate, ND, the daughter of Morris and Goldie (Boyer) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Colgate, ND for a few years and then later went to school in Hope where she graduated in 1960. Judy married her best friend and the love of her life, Maynard Satrom on June 22, 1962. They looked forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this summer; however, the good Lord had other plans for her. Judy and Maynard lived and farmed on the home farmstead for their entire married life. She also worked at the Hope Locker Plant and Hope Lanes and Café. They lovingly raised their two children, Todd and Tara.

Judy was a lifetime (50 years) member of the Handy Homemakers Club as well as a long term member of the United Church of Hope. Her hobbies included gardening, designing and making greeting cards and her special gift of writing poetry. The pride and joy of her life was her four grandchildren. She took great delight in attending their various events and activities.

Judy is survived by her husband, Maynard, Hope, ND; son Todd (Shelly) of Galesburg, ND; daughter Tara (Ted) Whitmore of Fargo, ND, grandchildren, Kelly Satrom of Galesburg; Whitney Ashton and Garrett Whitmore of Fargo, ND: four sisters, Jan (Roy) Daschendorf, Hope, ND, Lori Kingston, Hope, ND, Barb (Allan) Jacobsen, Luverne, ND, Deb (Steve) Satrom, West Fargo, ND; two brothers, Tim (Deb) Johnson, Hope, ND Larry Johnson, Hope, ND, and sister-in-law, Susie Dickson, Fargo, ND.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Tom Kingston.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Hope American Legion Hall, Hope, ND.

Visitation will be Monday, June 4, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Hall and one hour before services in the Hall. A Prayer Service will be Monday at 7:00 in the Hall in Hope. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery, Hope, ND.
