FORKS, N.D. (AP) The U.S. Marshals Service says no foul play is suspected in the death of a deputy marshal who was found dead in his vehicle in a Grand Forks parking lot.

Police Chief John Packett identified the man as 46-year-old Robert Wood. He was found dead in a residential neighborhood Wednesday morning. U.S. Marshal Paul Ward says an autopsy is planned but results aren’t likely to be released for weeks.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that Wood served in the Air Force before joining the Marshals Service. He was transferred from Washington, D.C., to Grand Forks in 1994.
