CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Nine properties have signed another 5 are ready as Valley City moves forward in the first phase of the million flood buyout.

Flood Task Force Chairman Matt Pederson says he’s confident that the more than 30 properties targeted in the first phase will be on board.

Pederson says the highest buyout was Lance Apartments at a price of $670,000 dollars.

Pederson says the formula was the same one modeled after those apartment buyouts in Minot and Fargo. The issue was discussed during the city Flood Task Force meeting on Wednesday in Valley City.
