(NewsDakota.com) – A 25-year-old Jamestown woman has been sentenced to six years with the Department of Corrections following guilty pleas this week to several drug charges in Southeast District Court.

Kami Elle Nelson pleaded guilty Monday to nine felony charges related to drugs, including a Felony A count of delivery of methamphetamine to another person. Judge John Greenwood sentenced her to six years with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

According to court documents, she also pleaded guilty to eight Felony C counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The court recommended Nelson be placed at the Tompkins Rehabilitation and Corrections Center at the North Dakota State Hospital.

Nelson had several prior convictions related to alcohol and drugs.
