Sherlock, age 43 of Dazey, ND died Sunday, August 26, 2012 of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Friday, August 31st at the Dazey Assembly of God Church in Dazey, ND with Rev. Foster Beckstrand officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Thursday with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM at the Assembly of God Church.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Friday at the church.  Burial will be in the Dazey Cemetery.

Jarrod James Sherlock was born Dec. 26, 1968 at Valley City, ND the son of James and Helen (Bryn) Sherlock.  He grew up at Dazey and played high school football. After high school he attended schools at UND, NDSU, and VCSU.  On Dec. 4, 1999 he was united in marriage to Anna Thoreson at Dazey.  The couple made their home and raised their children there.  Jarrod was a member of the Dazey Volunteer Fire Department, Dazey Methodist Church and an FFA member while in high school.  Farming and the land were everything to Jarrod but he also enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR racing, football, and tinkering with vehicles. Most everything he enjoyed was because of the people he was with. He liked to help others, whether members of the community or strangers.  He touched their lives in his special way; and he gave guidance and inspiration to younger people as they traveled through their lives.  He was a special husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew and family was so dear to him.  To his nieces he was Mr. Green Jeans.

Jarrod is survived by his wife, Anna, 3 children: Justin in Washington, DC, Hunter and Seth both attending school at UND in Grand Forks, his parents James “Pudge” and Helen Sherlock, Dazey, ND, 2 brothers, Joshua (Jackie) Sherlock, Cooperstown, ND and Peter (Janae) Sherlock, Gwinner, ND, a sister Rachelle (Jonathan) Martin, West Fargo, ND, nieces and nephews Logan, Joelle, and Kyrsten Sherlock, Jessica and Jasmine Sherlock, and MaTia and Luke Martin, and his father and mother-in-law Larry and Dusty Thoreson of Valley City, ND.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert and Marie Sherlock, maternal grandparents Peter and Dorothy Bryn, and a nephew Caleb Martin.

In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make donations to Farm Rescue, St. Judes Children’s Hospital, or any other charity of their choosing in Jarrod’s name.
