James “Jim” Abrahamson, 91, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. 

James Louis Orville Abrahamson, son of Louis and Jennie (Thompson) Abrahamson was born July 8, 1921 at Warwick, North Dakota.  After the death of his father, he moved with family to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, where he graduated from Fergus Falls High School.  Jim served his country in World War II and the Korean War as a fighter pilot.  He later graduated from the University of Wyoming and then worked at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, where he met Patricia “Patsy” Zavattero.  They were married on August 2, 1969.  Jim and Patsy lived in El Paso, Texas before moving to Fargo in 1998.  Patsy passed away May 11, 2010, and Jim continued to make his home in Fargo.  The couple loved traveling around the United States and visiting many places along the way.

He is survived by two nephews, David (Connie) Robbins and James (Linda) Robbins, all of Milnor; and a niece, Ann Roach of New Hampshire.  Jim was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sisters, Evelyn Robbins and Hazel Mitchell, and a nephew, Myron Robbins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor, ND, with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near DeLamere, ND.
