(NewsDakota.com)  Its was an exciting night as well as Senior night for the Titans of Griggs Barnes County, as they defeat AA East opponent Kindred 12-6 on Friday night (Oct. 5th).  GBC improves to 1-6 overall, Kindred falls to 2-5 overall.

Both teams were highly motivated coming in to last nights game, as both teams were looking for their first win in the East Division.  Kindred’s star Quarterback Eric Bachmeier was injured earlier this year, so Sophomore Fletcher Andel had to take over at the helm for the Vikings.  After two unsportsmanlike penalties on the Titans, the Vikings had excellent field position and scored at the 2:46 mark in the second quarter.  It was QB Andel on the keeper taking it right up the middle for the touchdown, making it 6-0 Kindred Vikings at the half.

Then it was all Titans in the second half.  At the 4:46 mark in the third quarter, after a short punt by the Vikings giving the Titans had good field position, Junior running back Wyatt Steckler for the Titans took it in from three yards out tying the game at six apiece.

With the game winding down and looking like it might go into overtime, Head Coach Davey Zinke goes with a screen pass at the 1:25 mark in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore quarterback Timmy Erker threw it to WR Jacoby Kramlich who ran it in from 60-yards out making it 12-6 Titans.  The Vikings would get another offensive possession, but the Titans defense did their job forcing the Vikings to turn it over on downs.

Senior wide reciever Jacoby Kramlich for GBC was the player of the game with 120 yards recieving and one touchdown.

Next up for the Titans will be Wahpeton at Wimbledon starting at 7p on Thursday, October 11th, pregame at 6:30p on FM 103.1 The Raven.  It’s also Senior night for Barnes County North.
