transition of moving control of the Public Service Answering Point system known as 9-1-1 from the city to Barnes County will apparently move forward on January first according to Commissioner Eldred Knutson. He says the biggest concern in the transition process is employee benefits.

Knutson says a new 9-1-1 supervisor will be selected before the transition is completed.

Knutson says health insurance benefits for those who are single without dependents would increase under the county plan.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph told the board of commissioners last week that January first is too soon and more work needs to be done before moving forward with the transition.
