N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mark Watne of Jamestown was elected as the new president for the North Dakota Farmers Union.

Elwood “Woody” Barth, who served as North Dakota Farmers Union president since 2011, gave up his Presidency after Mark was elected by membership during the state convention November 22nd through the 23rd.

Watne has been in service to NDFU serving as staff executive director for the state office, agricultural strategist and development specialist for 15 years. He served on the Board of Directors for six years in 1990.

A total of 688 people registered to attend the state convention in Minot.
