N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – At around 1:50 PM, a mechanical failure in an electrical substation caused a power outage for around 2,300 customers.

According to Otter Tail Power Company, the outage affected numerous homes on the east side of Jamestown. The outage also affected AM 1400 KQDJ’s transmitter, disrupting its daily broadcast on that tower.

Otter Tail was able to restore power after roughly half an hour.
