Zaun, age 56, of Buffalo, ND, died Tuesday, December 6th at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, December 12th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Sheyenne Valley Cemetery near Kathryn, ND.

Cynthia Marie Saugstad was born on December 9th, 1959 to John and Lynette (Hellickson) Saugstad. She grew up on a farm outside of Kathryn, ND and was very active with 4-H, cattle, and her horses. Cyndy graduated from Kathryn High School in 1978. She later attended VCSU and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. She moved to Fargo after graduating and worked for a bank and insurance company. On December 2, 1989 she married Dale Zaun and moved to a farm south of Buffalo, ND. Cyndy later had two children, Katelyn and Jared, and was a stay at home mom for a few years. For the past 11 years, she enjoyed her springs working at Riverside Gardens in Valley City. Cyndy loved camping, bowling, going gambling with her girls, and singing karaoke.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Sheyenne Valley Cemetery, Kathryn, ND.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dale Zaun; children Katelyn and Jared; one brother, Stan (Jeannie) Blom of Kathryn ND; sister Denise (David) Majerus of Kathryn, ND; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Lynette, brother Rick Blom, and godson Andrew Sadek.
