VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Local, state and federal officials held a meeting in Valley City to help citizens learn more about the flood outlook and steps residents and businesses can take to reduce their flood risk this spring.

The meeting included representatives from the National Weather Service, North Dakota Emergency Services and Senior Floodplain Specialist Barbara Fitzpatrick from the Federal Emergency Management Administration in Valley City.

National Weather Service Forecast Greg Gust said the probability of the Sheyenne River in Valley City reaching 12 feet is at 50 percent.
