N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Downtown Association held the 3rd Annual Rods & Hogs and Things that go VROOM!!  Saturday, June 10th on 1st Avenue Jamestown.

The event featured Classic Cars, Trucks and Bikes as well as displays by the various motorsports clubs in Jamestown including the Jamestown Drag Racing Association, Buffalo City Go Karts, Jamestown Speedway, James Valley Off Roaders, and Southeast Pickup Pullers.

The Jamestown Mystics provided food on the street with Smoked Ribs by Jack McGregor, Cavendish fries and Root Beer Floats available for sale. A reported 150 racks of ribs were sold at the event.

The Loudest Exhaust contest sponsored by S & S Exhaust was held at 3 pm with the $100 payout going to Brant Naze of Montpelier North Dakota with his 1976 Camaro RS.        

Winner of the Balance Beam contest sponsored by Napa Auto Parts with a $100 payout, was Brian Kamlitz of Jamestown North Dakota using his 1968 Plymouth at a time of 23.4 seconds.

Prizes were awarded at 5 pm with the Best Bike Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by the Office Bar, going to Greg and Joan Paintner of Hawley Minnesota with their V8 Chopper.  

The Best Truck Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by Wilhelm Chevy, Buick, GMC was awarded to Larry Zastoupil of Aberdeen South Dakota with his 1956 F100 Pickup with tagalongs.

And the Best Car Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by RM Stoudt Inc was presented to LeRoy Moser of Jamestown North Dakota with his 1936 Ford Street Rod.

The 2017 Rods & Hogs and Things that go VROOM! was also sponsored by Last Leg Taxi, First Community Credit Union, D & B Portables, Unison Bank and Jamestown Tourism.
