N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board heard from Curriculum Director Joe Hegland on the Marzano Focused Teacher Evaluation Model in the schools.

Hegland reported that the model was entering its third year for the schools this year.

Hegland focused on the self-reflection aspect of the Marzano Evaluation Model during the Monday meeting.

He says later after the teachers reach the second semester, they review the document with the building principal to reflect on those goals. He says that’s how the self-assessment works.

Superintendent Rob Lech says they initiated the current model for evaluations to make it easier on the teachers, using a three year rotation as Hegland pointed out.
