VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Neither Valley City basketball team could find an answer for West Fargo’s offensive Tuesday night at The HAC. The Packers took both games to earn a season sweep of both the girls and boys match ups.

A strong second half from West Fargo earned them a 63-45 win in the girls’ game, in the boys’ game 5 scored in double figures to lead them to a 101-49 win. The Hi-Liners girls drop to 5-9 in The EDC while the boys are now 1-15. Both teams play Friday at Devils Lake.

GBB: West Fargo 63 vs. Valley City 45

Valley City went into the intermission leading 25-18 but that lead wouldn’t hold up against West Fargo’s 3 point barrage in the second half. After going 0-8 for beyond the arc in the opening period The Packers went 10 for 13 from long range in the final 18 minute while outscoring The Hi-Liners 45-20.

Morgan Foss led the four Packers who surpassed double digits with 14 points. Abby Donarski and McKenna Becher both scored 13 and Brynn Giesen 11.

Valley City was led by Taryn Dieterle’s 12 points, she added 7 rebounds. Courtney Lloyd had 9 points and 8 boards while Mackenzie Pederson added 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The Hi-Liners turned the ball over 28 times to The Packers 18.

BBB: West Fargo 101 vs. Valley City 49

West Fargo showed why they are one of the top teams in The EDC and Class A basketball. They led 63-28 at the half and would push their lead into the 40s for much of the second for their 15th win of the year.

Joe Pistorius had 20 points for West Fargo. Abdi Sufi was right behind him with 19, Luke Lennon scored 17.

Riley Miller had 15 points to lead Valley City. Matthew Lyter scored 11 and Avery Bennefeld and Peyton Zaun 6.
