JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Museum has a storied history and their doors will be open all summer long for those who want to learn it.

The Stutsman County Memorial Museum has been everything from a home to George Lutz to a retirement home. Museum Member Alden Kollman says that all lead up to become the museum it is today.

It’s now home to an extensive collection of pioneer artifacts and other memorabilia. Kollman says a big draw for the museum all summer is their front porch chats, which begin this Sunday.

Other presentations will be by local historians or craftsmen to tell the stories of the state’s pioneer heritage. A replica gazebo originally in the NP Railroad Park is also on site for events and celebrations.

Kollman says some renovations have taken place since last year that he encourages people to come see.

Kollman says they have other events planned such as a “murder mystery” event all summer and an annual fundraiser to maintain the museum. For more, listen to the full interview with Alden Kollman below:
