JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Former Stutsman County Deputy Elizabeth Kapp has announced her official campaign for the position of Stutsman County Sheriff.

Kapp received enough write-in votes to be on the November general election ballot and has made her intentions known that she will use the opportunity to run for Sheriff.

“I would like to thank the people who wrote my name on the primary ballot for Sheriff of Stutsman County,” Kapp stated Monday. “My campaign will focus upon building strong community connections, community policing, and ensuring the safety of the citizens of Stutsman County.”

Kapp received 148 write-in votes after canvassing, which allows her to be on the November ballot.

Kapp’s opponent will be incumbent Chad Kaiser, who is running for his third term as Sheriff. Kaiser ran unopposed during the June Primary Election.
