JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Police have given the details leading up to a 2 vehicle crash on First Street West and First Avenue in Jamestown Monday.

According to the report, a pickup driven by Matt Friend was traveling north on First Avenue when he stopped and attempted to turn west onto First Street. He was then rear-ended by an SUV operated by 20 year-old Nathan Ahner.

The crash caused the SUV to continue northbound, across the railroad tracks where it struck a light pole, damaging the quiet zone pedestrian maze. The pickup was pushed into the intersection. Both Fox and Ahner refused medical treatment at the scene.

Ahner was cited for driving under suspension, care required and distracted driving. While repairs were made to the quiet zone maze, trains sounded their horn when entering Jamestown.
