JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The mother of a 4 month-old child found dead in Stutsman County last Saturday is currently being held at the Stutsman County Correctional Center.

Justice Maxine Lange, 25, is being held on probation hold and unpaid Jamestown Municipal Court Fines. She was transported from a Fargo hospital to the correctional Center Monday night.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser reported that Lange was hospitalized while officials conducted a search for her missing 4 month-old baby. Lange informed authorities that she could not recollect the previous four days or where she had left the baby. The body was found Saturday afternoon near a slough in rural Stutsman County.

Sheriff Kaiser says charges are pending from the Stutsman County State’s Attorney and may follow after autopsy results are received.
