JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A groundbreaking for the new Jamestown Airport Industrial Park was held Thursday afternoon west of the Jamestown Regional Airport.

92 acres of land adjacent to the Jamestown Regional Airport will be used for future development and will be promoted by the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation with ownership by the airport.

JSDC Business Development Director Corry Shevlin says they are going to have the park constructed through this year and in 2019, they’ll really focus on bringing in potential tenants.

JSDC Board Vice President Kelly Rachel thanked all the entities that made the industrial park a reality.

Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Samuel Seafeldt says the project will be a major benefit to the airport and community.

Seafeldt says the benefits don’t stop at just the community level, but future development could help the state of North Dakota.

The $2.8 million project will build roads and install water and sewer lines in the park. Numerous businesses will have access to utilize the industrial park once it’s completed in 2019.
