JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Burlington Northern Santa Fe has reported that the pedestrian maze along 1st Avenue in Jamestown has been repaired.

BNSF Spokeswoman Amy McBeth confirmed Friday that the trains will stop sounding their horns when approaching all Jamestown crossings after repairs were completed on the pedestrian maze at one of the crossings.

The maze was damaged earlier this year after a distracted driver struck a car, which in turn damaged the pedestrian maze. This forced trains to sound their horns as a safety precaution while the maze was being repaired.

All locomotive engineers have been informed of the change effective immediately Friday afternoon.
