JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Emily Bivens has been at the Chamber of Commerce for about a week now.

Bivens, the new Jamestown Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, is settling into her new role after former director Becky Thatcher-Keller retired at the end of August.

After having worked with Jamestown Tourism, she made the move to take over Thatcher-Keller’s position. She says making Jamestown a better place to live is her focus.

Bivens has been a member of the Jamestown Downtown Association, the chamber Young Professionals and several other community groups. She has been instrumental in helping Tourism and the JDA expand their social media presence and marketing efforts in the community, the region and the state. Her experience with Tourism will create a great opportunity for collaboration and community growth as she assumes this new position.

Bivens says in her first few weeks, she would like to create stronger connections among business in Jamestown and foster future growth for the chamber and community.
