OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Carrington High volleyball team remains as the sole team in Class B District 5 play with an unblemished mark against their district competition, after an impressive three sets to none sweep of Oakes Tuesday night.

The Cardinals (24-7, 5-0 Class B District 5) won by scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-16. Carrington accumulated 36 kills, lead by Kayden Mering’s 10 and Bella Hone’s eight. Mering and Hone each had an ace apiece in the victory.

The Tornadoes (23-5, 5-1) had a team high 10 kills from Nicole Schmitz to go along with three aces.

Oakes heads to Napoleon Thursday night to meet the Imperials of Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter while Carrington welcomes Midkota Monday October 15.
