JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The University of Jamestown volleyball team hosted No. 8 Dordt (Iowa) in a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday evening at Harold Newman Arena. Dordt came away with the victory in three sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

The Defenders (18-2 overall, 11-0 GPAC) outhit the Jimmies (16-6, 6-5 GPAC) .197-.089 in the match. Dordt also had 68 digs to UJ’s 52.

Britta Knudson (JR/Bismarck, N.D.) led Jamestown with seven kills. Isabell Wedell added six kills while Kennedy Conzemius(SR/Breckenridge, Minn.) and Jayla Ritter (SO/Forest Lake, Minn.) each had five kills. Ritter’s .556 hitting percentage was a team high.

Miranda Lowman (JR/Mandan, N.D.) had 14 assists and Jackie Meiklejohn (FR/Dickey, N.D.) 10. Julina Niemeier (SR/Jamestown, N.D.) led the defense with 17 digs. Anna Holen (FR/LaMoure, N.D.) was also in double figures with 14 digs. Knudson had four total blocks, including three block assists.

Next up for Jamestown is a Saturday home match against Morningside (Iowa) at 5:00 p.m.
