FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Nearly 190 people from across the state attended the annual North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame East meets West benefit dinner and auction in Fargo on November 2nd.

This year’s keynote speaker was former Miss America Kara Mund. The Bismarck native talked about the determination it took for her just to get to the Miss America pageant. She competed at the state level four times before being crowned Miss N.D.

She has an interest in running for a public office. But she wouldn’t tell us which party affiliation. If elected she would serve the people and not the party.

She said once you are crowned Miss America, it’s amazing the positive impact you have on children.

A number of art items with a Cowboy, Native American or Western theme were auctioned off during the event on November 2nd held at the Avalon in Fargo.
