JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Day One of the Stutsman County Boys Basketball Tournament took place Thursday at the Jamestown Civic Center.

Edgeley/KM 73, Medina/PB 43
A 17-0 run in the in the first quarter lifted the Rebels to a win in the opening game. Medina lead 10-6, but once EKM took the lead it was over quick. 
The Rebels lead 45-23 at the half and coasted to a 30-point win. MPB only got as close as 18 in the second half. 
Ellendale 70, Napoleon/GS 45. 
In the last 90 seconds of the first half Ellendale flipped a three-point deficit to a three-point lead. They went into the break up 31-30, but the momentum had shifted. 
The Cardinals held the Imperials to just four points in the third quarter and Austin Molan continued his torrid pace to pull away. Molan finished with 31.
Kidder County 71  Midkota 25
11 players scored for the Wolves of KC in the third game of the day, leading the way with 18 was Elijah Fallgatter, followed by Austin Schmidt with 10. Midkota was led by Freshman Logan Topp with 16 points. 
Carrington 58  South Border 29
Junior Seth Nelson had 15 points including a one-handed slam, 10 rebounds, three assists, five steals and one blocked shot to help the Cardinals of Carrington cruise to a first round victory over the Mustangs of SB. Kyle Leapaldt added 13, Payton Smith had 12 points and McCoy Vandehoven had 11 for Carrington. The Mustangs were led by Nick Paulsrud with nine, all treys. The Cardinals shot 51% from the field, 25 of 49, SB just 22%, 10 of 45.
