JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A state delegate from Jamestown has introduced legislation aimed at giving state employees a raise in compensation and providing better insurance coverage for infertility patients.

With the 2019 Legislative session a few weeks in, State Senator John Grabinger (D – Jamestown), who serves as Assistant Minority Leader, has introduced two bills this session. The first (SB 2128) to provide a compensation raise for state employees who haven’t seen increases in four years.

Grabinger opposes a competing bill in the legislature that he says could leave those who have personality differences with their supervisor behind.

The second bill (SB 2233) looks to improve the health insurance coverage for women who, due to prior health conditions, suffer from infertility. Grabinger says that insurance coverage for a procedure to preserve eggs for later use is capped at $20,000, which he says is not enough.

Grabinger says that it is a pro-family bill and urges his colleagues to support it.
