JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council met in regular session on Monday, February 4th.
The city approved a change order to Border States Paving for construction on 5th Street NE as well as a change order to Scherbenske Inc. for construction on the NW Water Main Replacement Project.
Later, Councilmember Dave Steele took a moment to remind residents to clear hydrants near their property.

Councilmember Steve Brubakken added that it is the property owners responsibility to clear off nearby fire hydrants.
Councilmember Pam Phillips presented the Jamestown Tourism Annual Report to the council for them to review and see what different projects were completed and funded in 2018. Mayor Dwaine Heinrich stated the meeting was informative and indicative of what the Tourism department continues to do.
Mayor Heinrich also thanked all city staff and members who have worked on the 4-day garbage and recycling pickup program implementation that began Monday.

Heinrich also credited the city crews work with their work on the snow removal in the city. He says operations have received favorable comments.

City Administrator Sarah Hellekson was also recognized for her certification as auditor through a North Dakota League of Cities Program.
Later in the meeting, City Engineering Tech. Justin Liebig informed the council of the upcoming Sidewalk, Curb & Gutter District plans for the year.

The resolution was approved. The council also approved the appointment of Russel J. Myhre as an alternate municipal court judge effective immediately.
