JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The second half continues to be the major issue for teams trying to upset top-ranked Jamestown in West Region basketball. Minot scored just seven points in the first 10 minutes of the second stanza as Jamestown pulled away for a 90-61 win. The win, coupled with Mandan’s loss to Williston, clinches as least a share of the WDA title for Jamestown.
They can clinch it outright with one win in their final four games.
A 12-2 run right before half, pushed Jamestown’s lead to 49-37 heading into the break. But in the second half, Jamestown scored the first 12 and never looked back. They built their lead as high as 28 in the second half.
Boden Skunberg torched the nets again with 32 points on 13-23 shooting. Mason Walters added 22.
Jamestown has three road games next week; at Legacy on Tuesday, at Williston on Friday, at Watford City on Saturday. Williston is the only team the Jays haven’t beaten by double-figures this year.
