JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown United Way is close to their $200,000 goal for 2018-19 and is continuing to highlight the organizations they serve.
The $200,000 goal is set by funding requests made to the Jamestown United Way by the area organizations which are supported by the campaign as well as any Venture Grant applicants
Michelle Wante is a member of Jamestown United Way.

Of those 15 organizations, one of them is the James River Public Transit System. Overseen by the James River Senior Center, the transit system has been beneficially to many in the community.
Executive Director Maureen Wegenke says they’re continually sharing the word that the transit is available to anyone in the community.

Wegenke says the transit is used a lot for a multitude of purposes.

Office Manager Rhonda Sahr says they rely on grants and fundraising in order to maintain the public transit system. Sahr says Jamestown United Way funding has helped them greatly.
