Patricia “Pat” Ross Braunberger of Valley City, ND passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 73 on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
Pat, the daughter of LeRoy and Louise (Ebner) Ross, was born on September 26, 1945. Pat was born and raised in Roseau, MN as the 3rd of 5 children.  She was a graduate of Roseau High School in 1964, and then attended the University of North Dakota (Fighting Sioux Forever!) where she was first chair French Hornist in the UND Concert Band and earned her degree in Elementary Education.
In 1968, she married the love of her life, Arlie Braunberger from Valley City, ND.  They began their lives together in Golden Valley, MN and later moved to Roseau and finally made their home in Valley City in 1973.
Pat taught elementary school, before starting a family.  She then devoted the remainder of her life to raising her three children and eventually devoting time to her precious grandchildren.  As a stay at home mother, she ran an in-home daycare and substitute taught at St. Catherine’s School.  Pat shared her numerous gifts volunteering at both the church and school her entire adult life.  In addition to being on numerous committees, Pat also spent much time at theMaryvale Conventassistingthe Sisters’ in any way possible.  Pat was also catechist teacher and Musical Liturgist for St. Catherine’s Parish.  She sang her heart and lungs out many Sundays, leading parishioners in song and worship. Pat was a true Matriarch; she was the rock upon which God chose to build her wonderful family.  She loved unconditionally and judged no one.  Her influence will be seen in the generations that proceed her.Being a grandmother was Pat’s most cherished role.  She was sure to make each and every grandchild know, how very special they were.  Her grandchildren were without a doubt, her true pride and joy.
Pat proudly shared her faith with everybody. Her love for Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary was known by all.  Her faith led her to make pilgrimages to both Our Lady of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.  She demonstrated her love of prayer and the love of the Rosary openly to all those around her. Her infectious prayer life and positive presence had ahuge impact on countless people.  She made sure to instillthis strong faith and love of prayer within her children and grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband Arlie of Valley City, ND; son Jeffry Braunberger of Rolette, ND; daughter Mary Buff (Terry) Haus of Detroit Lakes, MN; Jed (Nicole) Braunberger of West Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law Michelle Braunberger of Rolette; grandchildren Taren, Jocelyn, and Madelyn Braunberger of Rolette; Sydney, Tyler, and Micah Haus of Detroit Lakes, MN; Elijah and Isaiah Braunberger of West Fargo, ND; siblings Diane (Vern) Korb of Le Sueur, MN; Don (Mary) Ross of Roseau, MN; Peggy (Carson) Hedlund of Roseau, MN; Gary (Kathy) Ross of Roseau, MN; many beloved nieces and nephews and numerous friends she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Louise Ross.
Mass of the Christian burial will be on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 pm at St. Catherine’s Church in Valley City, ND.  Immediately following the service, a gathering will be held in the church basement with lunch and fellowship to celebrate Pat’s blessed life.  Visitation will be Friday beginning at 5:00 pm with Rosary starting at 6:30 pm followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to St. Catherine’s School or REACH Foundation of Valley City, ND; or to your local police or fire departments.
