BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays girls basketball team saw it’s season come to a close Friday night after a 55-44 loss to Williston in an elmination game at the West Region tournament in Bismarck.
Williston used a 10-0 run in the first half to take a 21-14 lead, a lead they would not give up.
Jamestown shot just 25 percent in the second half and 31 percent for the game, on their way to the second lowest point output of the season.
Senior Courtney Peterson hit her first three 3-point shots of the night. The third gave the Jays a 14-11 lead. That would be the last lead they would have.
Makia Remus’ 3-pointer on the following possession tied the game up at 14, and started the decisive run
Brooklyn Douglas led the Coyotes with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jalyn Helstad had 12 points and eight rebounds. Corbyn Davis added 11 points and four assists. Bridget Carvey had eight points and a game high 10 rebounds.
Peterson led Jamestown with 12 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Grace Hegerle had nine points. Junior Kameron Selvig had eight points and five rebounds. Junior Katherine Horgan chipped in six points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.
Jamestown ends the season at 12-11. Williston improves to 12-12 and will face Bismarck in a state qualifying game Saturday afternoon at 12:45.
